“No music without a story”, that’s the motto of The RUUF inc. This talented composer, keyboard player, and producer (also known as Ruud Smit) has a unique vision on music. His motto is to convert stories into emotion through music because he strongly believes in the power of music to convey emotions and connect with the listener.
In 2018, The RUUF inc made its debut in the music industry with the album “Just To Be With You”. This album was the result of a collaboration with an exceptional team of international session musicians and studio professionals. The album turned out to be a tremendous success and marked the beginning of a thriving career.
The music of The RUUF inc is recorded in the highly professional sound studio Studio A60 in Didam, Gelderland in the Netherlands. Here, Ruud works with live musicians who are certainly no strangers to the international music industry. The RUUF inc loves working with live musicians because they can really bring the atmosphere of the music to life; only then can you emphasize the emotion in the music. The music of The RUUF inc is unique, inspiring, and reaches deep into the soul.
For our cover photos, we work closely with our regular photographer, Robbin van Turnhout. Creating a striking cover photo is no simple task; it’s a process intertwined with the song, the artist, the lyrics, and the mood of the piece. This requires intense collaboration to achieve a suitable composition. From deciding between a full body or a close-up, to selecting colors that suit the song and its atmosphere, every step is carefully considered. We discuss with Robbin at an early stage how to achieve a satisfying result. The input of both the composer and the individuals being photographed is invaluable.
During the photo sessions, hundreds of photos are taken, and we select together to achieve the final result that everyone is happy with.
Robbin’s patience as a photographer is admirable. With his professional approach, he continuously motivates to get the right poses and positions. The result is always impressive: professional, skilled, and craftsmanship of the highest level.

A great upgrade of the music track “Crystal Night” by The RUUF inc feat Marcel Tiemessen is about to become a reality. After careful consideration, we have decided that this popular track deserves a visual companion that will elevate the music to new heights.
The first steps have already been taken, and we are thrilled to announce that discussions with Lieke Loeters film, the acclaimed production company, are currently in full swing. Together, we will bring the visual world of “Crystal Night” to life.
The schedule is tight: on Saturday, June 29th, filming will take place at two carefully selected locations, each with its own unique atmosphere that perfectly complements the emotions of the music. And as if that weren’t enough, Romy Tiemessen, Marcel’s second daughter, will play a special guest role in the music video, adding an extra personal touch to the project.
With the expertise of Lieke Loeters Film on board, expectations are high. We are confident that the new music video will not only capture the essence of “Crystal Night” but also further increase the song’s popularity. It promises to be a true visual treat that will exceed all expectations.
